Attorney General Tong is focused on ensuring access to affordable, community-based care for all Connecticut residents.

Generic Drugs: Connecticut is leading a coalition of nearly all states and territories taking on the widespread conspiracy by generic drug manufacturers to artificially inflate and manipulate prices, reduce competition, and unreasonably restrain trade for generic drugs sold across the United States. The first complaint was filed under Attorney General Jepsen. The second two were filed under Attorney General Tong.

Insurance Rates: Attorney General Tong pushed back against double-digit rate hikes requested by insurers, and continues to seek a more robust process to protect families and small businesses from unaffordable hikes.

Affordable Care Act: Attorney General Tong successfully fought alongside democratic attorneys general to defend the Affordable Care Act before the U.S. Supreme Court.

Community-Based Maternity Care: Attorney General Tong has heard from hundreds of concerned community members regarding proposals to close labor and delivery services at Sharon Hospital, Windham Hospital, and Johnson Memorial Hospital. He has urged state regulators to require these hospitals to provide a clear public need for these closures before requiring mothers in active labor to travel as much as 40 additional minutes to receive maternity care.
