Attorney General Tong believes every family deserves access to safe and affordable housing and he’s using every available tool he has to help advance that.
RealPage: Attorney General Tong has taken on the largest landlords in the country who were rigging the market with unfair and anticompetitive pricing algorithms from software company RealPage. He’s joined a bipartisan coalition of attorneys general in reaching a $7 million settlement with mega landlord Greystar. The case against RealPage and five remaining landlords is ongoing.
Concierge: Following serious health and safety concerns at Concierge Apartments that forced hundreds of Rocky Hill tenants out of their homes, Attorney General Tong launched an investigation into the conduct of Concierge’s out-of-state private equity owners, that resulted in $5.1 million in financial relief for tenants. Negotiations over a second agreement to address ongoing inspections and accountability measures at the property are ongoing.
Mobile Homes: After hearing from numerous mobile manufactured home park residents across Connecticut, Attorney General Tong has supported legislation to ensure mobile home parks in Connecticut remain affordable and well-managed.
Defending Fair Housing Laws: Attorney General Tong is among 16 attorneys general who have sued the Trump Administration over threats to withhold funding from state and local fair housing enforcement agencies for abiding by state antidiscrimination laws. Attorney General Tong believes people deserve access to safe, affordable housing regardless of who they love, how they identify, the language they speak, or the rental assistance they may receive.
